EcoSairila industrial area
It is possible to reserve pre-levelled plots of land for industrial uses with utility connections in EcoSairila. A survey of the construction conditions has been carried out on the plots of land in the area.
The city plan aims to enable the construction of the industrial areas identified in the EcoSairila component master plan, and designates suitable areas for industry, energy generation, bioenergy generation, and recycling, and promotes the business structure of the city.

The EcoSairila area and its actors form a hub of biological and technical material flows arising in the Mikkeli region and directed here from further afield. A wastewater treatment plant utilising the most advanced purification technology in Europe, a modern, diverse waste management centre, and a biogas plant offer business opportunities and synergies with other companies and actors located in the area.
The Kieppi centre provides better service for residents and companies using waste management services in the area. The reception and sorting centre jointly created by the Metsäsairila waste management company and the Mikkeli Action Centre takes all disused materials and develops new methods for exploiting recycled and discarded materials. This improves the material recycling rate and creates business profitability for the processing and reuse of recycled and discarded materials in the area.
More than 100 hectares have been zoned in the area for allocation to new companies engaged in industrial production activities. The plots are levelled and connected to the municipal utilities.
